What we do
4 Voices is a for-purpose organisation and registered charity with the ACNC
providing free frontline services to vulnerable women.
Connecting women, changing lives
Everyone needs connection, but not everyone needs the same thing.
Connection is fundamental to healing.
That's why at 4 Voices, we offer a variety of ways for you to connect with us, free of charge, and free from judgment and red tape.
Safe spaces, warm smiles: Find comfort and connection with our friendly vans (Aurora, Hope, Snowflake, and Emmie) offering a cuppa and a chance to talk with friendly volunteers who care.
Confidentiality over the phone: Need to talk but prefer privacy? Speak regularly with one of our caring phone support volunteers. They will listen and encourage you to talk through any issues you have at no cost to you.
Digital support: Don't let lack of access or lack of experience with computers hold you back. We can help you. Whether it is to source a mobile phone, get you set up on your laptop, or support you to find what you need online, please come see us at one of our many locations.
At 4 Voices, we're passionate about creating a safe space where women can build trust and self-confidence.
Sharing experiences with others who understand can be incredibly powerful. Through our services, you'll find a supportive community where you can:
Feel heard and understood.
Gain strength and inspiration from others.
Build healthy relationships and a sense of belonging.
We understand that facing homelessness, domestic violence, or other challenges is isolating. But you're not alone.
4 Voices is here to support your decisions, not make them for you. We will give you practical help and hang in with you for as long as you find us useful. All we want is for you to be able to look forward to a better tomorrow, regardless when tomorrow is.
Ready to find your voice and connect with a supportive community? Here's how to get started:
Ours is a free service made possible by generous donations.
Types of Connection
1. Social Connection
We offer a safe space for women and girls of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life to connect and overcome loneliness. Our mobile outreach service brings support directly to communities, fostering a welcoming environment for individuals to feel heard and respected.
Our approach:
Open spaces: We operate in outdoor settings or under awnings, in an environment that oozes welcome and acceptance.
Non-judgmental support: Our dedicated volunteers connect with participants without judgment, building trust, confidence, and genuine relationships.
No fancy language: We understand that sometimes, a smile, a few words, or just a hug can make a significant impact.
Ongoing support: We offer phone follow-up and additional support through our network of volunteers across Australia.
2. Digital Connection
While digital literacy varies across Australia, 2.5 million Australians remained offline in 2023, often due to location, socio-economic factors, or vulnerability.
We're here to bridge that gap. Our mobile frontline service provides access to technology – mobile phones, computers, printers, and scanners – directly within communities.
Dedicated volunteers, located across Australia, offer vital support through phone or video calls, ensuring no one feels isolated or left behind.
Together, we can create a more connected Australia
3. Employment Connection
We understand that everyone's path is unique, and not everyone may be ready or able to join or rejoin the workforce.
Our focus is on supporting individuals to achieve their goals, whether that's through:
Job search assistance: We help with resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation.
Business development support: We offer guidance and resources for those pursuing their own dreams.
Skills development: We provide opportunities to learn and refine valuable skills for any career path.
4. Community Connection
No single organisation can solve complex issues like domestic violence and homelessness, collaboration is the answer. Our network connects individuals with valuable community resources, matching needs with appropriate organisations.
We know that seeking help can be daunting, embarrassing or even scary. We can help you connect with essential organisations like Centrelink, Legal Aid, Department of Housing, 1800 Respect, medical practitioners and others. Our volunteers can help make, and then support you through difficult appointments, reducing your stress during these confronting interviews.
This is the essence of Community Connection
