Leadership team

Our senior leaders execute our strategy and oversee day-to-day operations, making our mission a reality.

Jo Westh

Founder CEO

As founder of 4 Voices in 2020, she, like most other charity founders started everything from scratch, writing the Constitution, designing the first van, recruiting and training the volunteer team, writing policies, social media posts, websites, newsletters, making presentations and securing donations. Most importantly she went out on the streets and talked to women who were struggling. She found that women were lonely, they were not reaching out for help. Women experiencing violence were not going to the police, Centrelink or other providers. Women who were homeless were seeking refuge in parks, forests, in their cars, not knowing where to find help. Women everywhere were, and still are, scared of being judged reject if they fail to meet eligibility requirements.

Jo found that the most powerful thing that 4 Voices could offer was connection. Whether that be a cup of coffee, a phone call, help to write an email, fill in a form or application, support a woman into Centrelink office, a doctor’s surgery, a housing provider, a courthouse, a mental health service -  the difference was that the woman was no longer alone.

Jo made sure 4 Voices weathered the storm of COVID, then the housing crisis and cost of living hikes. Despite these major issues that have impacted millions of people, 4 Voices has grown, and now helps thousands of women each year.  Jo is proud to have built the highly skilled leadership team described below, who are building 4 Voices to enable any woman in need to receive support, without having to endure the fear, embarrassment or shame associated with accessing help from traditional models.
